Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his distinct blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway in the Democratic National Convention and in concerts and festivals across Europe. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was first introduced to the idea of becoming a musician, playing instruments and singing in the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her musical path in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan; it has since been remixed by numerous producers and is a staple of her live performance. She also has contributed her voice for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was then hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out for the role of director of choral for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition through four performances a day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration 2009.
